Privacy Policy

Personal Information - The only personal information we collect is what you voluntarily offer during signup, what you enter into your profile, and some basic information related to payments made on the site. Credit card information is never stored. This information will never be made available to others.

Cookies - We store a few cookies on your computer related to logging in, which allows the "remember me" box to function.

Communication - Users may occasionally receive administrative emails and internal administrative boardmails. We do not provide your email address to anyone without your permission. If we ever receive a request for your address, we will contact you first for your permission.

Rules of Conduct

Utefans.Net provides a variety of Tools for its users to post content to the web site and communicate with other users. These Tools include, but are not limited to, the Message Board, Personal Messages (a.k.a. Boardmail), Instant Messenger, Chat Rooms, and Personal Profiles. By participating in any way on UteFans.net, you agree not to:
  • Post or transmit any content that is abusive, vulgar, obscene, hateful, fraudulent, threatening, harassing, defamatory, or which discloses private or personal matters concerning any person;
  • Post or transmit any material that you don't have the right to transmit under law (such as copyrighted materials);
  • Post, transmit, or link to sexually explicit material, including drawings of breasts or genital or anatomical drawings used for educational purposes -- this is NOT an anatomy class or a medical website;
  • Intentionally violate any national, state, or local laws or regulations while accessing and using our site;
  • Impersonate any person, or falsely state or otherwise misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity (such as regular board contributors, student athletes, coaches, family members, representatives or employees of a school, or message board moderators);
  • Post or transmit any advertising, promotional materials, or other forms of solicitation including chain letters and pyramid schemes; and
  • Post or transmit any file that contains viruses, corrupted files, "Trojan Horses," or any other contaminating or destructive features that may damage someone else's computer

Image posting guideline: Utefans.Net is a site geared toward University of Utah Athletics for Ute fans. It is not a place to cause "T & A," "Cheesecake" or sexually arousing images of any sort to appear on the screens of unsuspecting readers. If you cannot somehow relate the image you're posting to Utah Athletics or the world of sports in general, then you should not post it. Abuse of this guideline is cause for your removal from using the website.

Copyright Reminder: Posting copyrighted materials in whole or in part is prohibited by law and not allowed on Utefans.net. By submitting or posting content on Utefans.net, you represent that you are the owner of such material or have legal, written authorization to distribute it.

All material posted on UteFans.net are the sole property of UteFans.net. All transmissions are subject to alteration by the Profanity Filter. Bear in mind that content posted on Utefans.Net is "public," and other users may have access to your material and could copy, modify or distribute it. Once you post content with these Tools, you expressly grant Utefans.Net the complete right to use, reproduce, modify, distribute, etc. the content in any form, anywhere.

Utefans.Net does not control or endorse the content transmitted with its Tools. Please be cautious when using the Tools. Transmitting material that is fraudulent, hateful, discriminatory, sexist, flirtatious, or otherwise inflammatory may provoke the actions of others, thereby endangering yourself and your well-being. If you choose to reveal any personal information about yourself on Utefans.Net, you do so at your own risk! Utefans.Net specifically disclaims any liability with regard to the content and any actions resulting from your participation. Although we are not responsible for any content found in these Tools, Utefans.Net reserves the right at all times to disclose any information necessary to satisfy any applicable law, regulation, legal process or governmental request, or to edit, refuse to post, or to remove any information, posting or material, in whole or in part, that in our judgement, does not meet our guidelines. The Tools are not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. You agree to never upload any icon, image, or graphic that violates any of the above provisions.

We may at any time, without prior notice and at our sole discretion, remove any posted material or ban any user for ANY REASON. You agree to indemnify the owner and operators of UteFans.Net and hold us harmless from any actions, claims, proceedings, or liabilities arising out of your violation of these rules of conduct. If any provision in this Agreement is invalid, unenforceable, or nonsensical, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

By signing up or transmitting any material of any kind with the Tools mentioned above, including using any page on the site not specifically mentioned above that allows the transmission of content through any means, you agree to these rules of conduct. By participating you also confirm that you understand that your computer's Internet address (IP address) is logged and could be publicly displayed at any time. Please note that your IP address is a means of identifying your computer and can be used to look up information about you and your company and/or Internet service provider.

Utefans.Net reserves the right to make changes to these guidelines at anytime and you agree to be bound by any such changes. Please check these guidelines periodically for any changes.
