    Eff - Player (+/-)
    19 - Jiggy (+7.7)
    17 - Martin (+11.0)
    12 - Farr (+4.8)
    11 - Washburn (-3.1)
    4 - Dawson (+0.4)
    4 - Storey (+0.1)
    4 - Hines (+1.0)

    Overall
    Utah - 71
    Wazzu - 66

On paper Martin played a much better than average game and was key to the success tonight. In reality he did play great but IMO it was Dawson, Farr and Martin who did the little things, creating turnovers, outhustling the other team, solid defense (the most difficult stat to control) and overall team motivation. Jiggy played a great game. Played more in control than I've seen out of him. I heard him after the game talk about now jumping into people trying to force contact, instead just pulling up and hitting the jumper. Krystkowiak +1, Boylen -1.

I thought Washburn regressed a bit tonight, the numbers show that. He lost the ball several times when he needs to just grasp that ball and don't let go...weak hands (they could still squish me like a grape though)

7 deep. Perkins, Matthews and Odunsi appear to be "blow-out minutes only" at this point. Utah's defense was at a season high tonight. Allowing a season low (48) shot attempts. 3 point defense was also key. In the last 3 wins Utah has allowed 6/15 from three. In the last 4 losses Utah has allowed 11/24 from three.

Here's another interesting stat. Utah allows an average of 55 shot attempts. In the first 7 games (59.1 attempts average. In the last 7 games (50.8 attempts average). If the other team doesn't shoot, they can't score. Washington St also shot a season low versus Utah from the stripe (10/22 45.5% ).

Utah was above average in 13 of 19 key categories. Although they did shoot a season low 50% from the line. With a season low (5) in free throws made. The foul discrepancy wasn't that bad (-4) but something interesting about that number is this was the first time since game 6 (UNC-Ashville) that Utah had more fouls than their opponent. Chalk that up to not allowing easy layups.

The two teams combined for a season low in free throws made (15) and turnovers (19) for a Utah game, despite the OT. Utah averaged (15.6) turnovers per game in the first 7 games and only (10.3) turnovers in the last 7. Tonight (9) was the second game (Fullerton) that Utah had less than 10 turnovers.

Utah almost set a season high in shots made (26) one off the UMass game (27). Utah played 9 guys 3 times this season (BYU, Idaho St and Portland) tonight only 7 saw the floor.

    Great win tonight...keep it rolling.
