      Rivalry Smack
When the announcement came we were heading to the PAC 12, the handwriting was on the wall that we would be seeing this rivalry wind down.

I am a believer that TDS had to leave the MWC just like we did.

Was going Indy to do it the answer? Probably not.

To the question at hand, it takes two to tango to get a long term deal done. In this case it appears neither party is too awful interested in making it happen. Maybe it is ego. Maybe it is the money. Maybe it is a collective decision that we were seeing too much of the hate spilling over in the stands and the workplaces and things needed time to cool off. Whatever the reason, this fall will most likely be the last time we play them for a while.

When will we see them on the schedule again? Who knows.

From the land of "Shoulda, Woulda, Coulda," if TDS had gotten into the Big Least or Big 12, we are most likely not having this discussion today. Uncle Larry would have been chomping at the bit for us to freely negotiate with them to set up a long term "Home and Home" deal. Needless to say, that didn't happen. As we sit here and discuss this today, their program is become less and less relevant; and since Uncle Larry wants all of the PAC 12 programs to be playing relevant -1 (the I-AA tune up); they have probably slipped in somewhere between playing a Montana State or a USU. if I was going to make a bet, it would be that within the next 7 years our schedule will be totally locked up, less the I-AA game, with BCS schools. We will most likely be playing a Big 12 team as well as the Big 10 team we have already got into the rotation coming up. It is sad to say it this way, but I believe the mid majors will be frozen out of everything, to include much of a TV deal, by 2020. This is the world TDS sits in right now and it is only a matter of time before the door closes for good on them.

In some ways it will be sad to see the end come. Hopefully, TDS will get things figured out and find a BCS home in the Big 12 to land in. Sadly, I just don't see it happening for them.

    FWIW
