I think it would be a shame to discontinue the Holy War. Every game in the last twenty years, outside of last year and our BCS runs, have been a coin flip. It's damn good football.
I've seen posts about no one outside of Utah caring. No one cares about any rivalry game unless there are national implications between ranked teams. Do people in NYC rearrange their schedule for the Apple Cup, Civil War, or Paul Bunyan's Trophy? Hell, last year no one gave a rat's about Michigan and OSU because the Buckeyes stunk. Rivalries are regional, and we have THE best one in the inter mountain west.
The whole Big 10 scheduling thing is a cop out. Do you think USC drops their game with ND? I get that it is a huge national game but I'd rather play TDS than and FCS school or lower tier FBS team.
It is a game I've looked forward to every fall since I was a kid. I, for one, would be sad to see the Holy War disappear. I think it would take away something unique from our part of the world. Beating BYU is still a quality win.
