Frank Jackson from Lone Peak may be the best basketball player in the state. He is just a junior. He comes from a great family. His dad is African American originally from the DC area. His mom and dad met when she was an intern back in DC. His family is very active LDS and I would be surprised if he doesn't go on a mission right out of high school.

Contrary to rumors, he did not grow up going to BYU games. His family has lived in multiple locations around the country. He is a very sharp young man and doesn't act like a super star athlete. He is very grounded. He committed initially to BYU just before playing his sophomore season. He has since rescinded that committent.

He got a lot of attention this last summer at international tournaments. He scored 43 points Saturday night at a tournament. He is a 6''3" guard. But, I suspect he still may grow a few inches. He obviously will be recruited by all major programs around the country. I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up at a great academic institution like Stanford or Duke. Academics is very important in the Jackson family. His dad is a very successful aeronautics consultant and recently appointed State Senator to take Senator Valentine's position. I'm very impressed with the entire family.

Utah would be very lucky to get this kid and it is possible I assume. But, I would be very surprised if we can get him. My guess is that he ends up out of state, although BYU is still in the mix.
