Utah only plays the "you can still do the LDS thing here, too!" card with a very small number of extremely LDS kids that absolutely demand that kind of thing in order to consider going anywhere other than BYU. The militant LDS kids only take up a small percentage (single digits) of Utah's scholarships.

The vast majority of Utah's recruits and scholarship players are either non-LDS or jack mormons. For the typical Utah recruit, the trip involves parties, girls, etc.; all of the typical stuff that you'd expect on an ASU or CU recruiting trip. If the subject of Mormons comes up it's only to dispel the myth that most people in SLC are Mormon or that the U is anything less than 100% secular. Even your dumb ass would fully approve of how Utah recruits 90+% of its targets.

Other schools in the PAC-12 spend a lot of time lying to recruits about SLC and the U. BYU-Provo also spends a lot of time telling polar opposite lies about the U. Recruiting trips for orthodox LDS kids involve showing them that Utah is more than the nonstop cocaine and stripper frat party that BYU-Provo and its deceitful minions have their parents convinced it is. Recruiting trips for normal recruits involve showing them that Utah is nothing like the ugly desert wasteland of teetotaling orthodox Mormons that deceitful PAC-12 coaches have convinced them it is.

Utah spends an overwhelming percentage of its recruiting time and effort dispelling myths and correcting lies; likely more than any other university in the entire country. By ignorantly assuming the ridiculous shit you assumed in your post, you perpetuate these myths and spread lies, making our coaches' jobs harder than they already are. Please stop pretending you have a fucking clue about how Utah recruits.
