Texas TE makes the call
Cy-Fair (Cypress, TX) tight end Colby Goodwin is a rising star coming out of the greater Houston area. The 6-foot-5 inch, 200 pound playmaker has gained attention as a superb blocker and solid receiver, and his stock has risen steadily in recent weeks. After all of the attention, Goodwin has made a decision and will be taking his game to the Wasatch Mountains next year. Where will Goodwin land? Click here to read mor
Utes roll Rebels
Utah (2-0, 1-0 MWC) overcame a sluggish start to roll over UNLV (1-1, 0-1) 42-21. Utah's offense picked up where it left off the week before against Michigan, struggling to consistently move the ball down the field before getting on-track in the second half. The Utes were especially bad in the first quarter, gaining just 35 yards while failing to sustain any drive beyond four plays. Utah's defense had a difficult time containing Frank Summers, UNLV's massive, 240 pound running back in the first half. Summers ran for 82 yards and 2 touchdowns in the first 30 minutes of play.
Utes face Rebels in conference opener

When the schedule was released back in April, Utah head coach Kyle Whittingham addressed the issue of playing a conference game that early in the year. "I'd rather not. You'd rather play all your non-conference up top and then get into your conference schedule, but very few [teams] get to do that." Click here to read more
Three-star has favorite
Three-star wide receiver Ricky Marvray (5-11, 184, 4.5) from Corona (Calif.) Centennial has seven offers on the table. Like for many players the offers have slowed down since July, but it's a very good bet that if he performs the first month of the season like he did during camps he attended, his offer total could double by October. He does have a favorite or two
Another Kruger in the wings
Ute fans accustomed to watching sophomore defensive end Paul Kruger tear up the line these past two years get giddy thinking about the future on the line with freshman David Kruger waiting for a spot on the rotation. What most Ute fans don't know, is that an even younger Kruger is demolishing quarterbacks and offensive lines in high school, and has popped up on the recruiting radar for 201 |
