We have relocated twice, the first time from SLC to Atlanta, and this last time from Atlanta to Toronto. Both times have been with a relocating company. They came in and packed the entire house, which made it easier, there was no way I could pack and have my rug rats under foot. Good luck on the move!

NEW: Or you can rent the truck and hire local movers to load the stuff in and out of the truck on either end. That is what we have done the last couple of moves. Well worth the money to save killing yourself loading and unloading. (nm)

NEW: This is precisely how I did it too in a move from Texas to California. Penske trucks, at least at the time, were great.

NEW: Second on the penske. If you can book early, you'll save piles of money. If you're not a AAA member, you should join because you'll pay for more than the memberships just with the savings from the one rental (nm)

NEW: I'll echo the Penske suggestions. I priced it out compared to ABF and UHaul. Uhaul was by far the most expensive.
