Really sad to hear that Sarah Burke died this morning up at the U. It sucks seeing so many great athletes in the winter sports I love leave this earth too soon.

So many skiers and snowboarders have passed away over the last few years, HUGE names in the industry. It's the one $#!+ty thing about these types of sports, these people are pushing the limits of what is possible every time they step into skis or strap into a board and sometimes they hit the limit and pay the ultimate price. Every single one of those people would tell you that they'd do it again if they could. Like CR Johnson said after his first life threatening accident (which landed him an induced coma for a couple weeks): "Only the things you truly love will you pursue with that energy and for me, my friends, my family and skiing, thats it for me, thats my life. The joy I get from skiing, thats worth dying for." CR was completely paralyzed, he had to re-learn everything and he did, eventually getting back on to skis and being an elite rider. Sadly CR passed away last year in a skiing accident, he was one of my favorite skiers of all time.
RIP Sarah Burke.
