Reminds me of Sunday Silence-Easy Goer in 1989

Easy Goer was the East Coast horse, hyped by the racing media and blazing fast. Like Secretariat, his followers called him Big Red.
Sunday Silence (like I'll Have Another) was a West Coast horse -- Sunday Silence was the last Santa Anita Derby winner to win at Churchill Downs until I'll Have Another.
Sunday Silence won the first two legs of the Triple Crown, although his Derby trip was mediocre for a winner. The Preakness, like the one we just saw, is on the short list of greatest Triple Crown races of all time.
In the Belmont, Easy Goer crushed, winning by 8 lengths with a time bested only by Secretariat. I'd love to see another TC winner, but I think Bodemeister spoils it.
One interesting thing to see will be the field size. You'll get two trains of thought -- the owner who wants to be a part of history and the owner who's seen this duel and figures he has no chance, so why bother?
