I think forgetting your birthday is a big deal. Even if you don't want a big deal made out of your birthday it is still nice if your spouse acknowledges it.

It is a day I would be sure to write myself a reminder so I wouldn't forget. I would be devastated if I forgot my husband's birthday or if he forgot mine.

NEW: must be a scientist thing, i'm also very lousy with dates and have to have constant reminds via my iphone, outlook calendar, post it notes, etc.
