Puget Ute icon NEW: I interrupt the zoobie blasting to bring you one of the greatest wins in Utah history. We NEED to play more of these storied programs just to have the chance for a W like this one.

Buzz Potez icon NEW: I don't mean to be a buzz kill (well, actually I do), but has Minnesota EVER been good in football? (nm)

Puget Ute icon NEW: Irrelevant. Utah was horrible, and this win over a 'known program' at in a big-time stadium (The Metrodome). It was a vision of things to come. We were a basketball school who were going to (re-)establish a winning tradition on the gridiron.

Buzz Potez icon NEW: I admire your zeal. However I wouldn't classify the Metrodome as "big time". Especially one that was 2/3rds empy.

Puget Ute icon NEW: Dude, besides Erector Set Stadium in Provo our games usually took place in stadiums that would embarrass a Texas high school player. Romney Stadium in Logan was one of our better stops. The Metrodome FELT like the big time. (nm)

Buzz Potez icon NEW: You're reaching. Just because you play in an empty big stadium doesn't make it big time. But I'll let you continue your little circle jerk with yourself. (nm)

Puget Ute icon NEW: Fine, I chose the wrong word to describe an indoor stadium that is very big and storied but empty. To those of us who grew up liking Herschel Walker and only saw that stadium during NFL games on Sundays it was a big deal to see the Utes play there

Tacoma Ute icon NEW: I'm still kicking myself. I angrily turned the TV off about 2 seconds before the kick. I did not find out what happen until a day or 2 later. I learned my lesson. (nm)

Puget Ute icon NEW: Same deal with the Cal State Fresneck game in 95(?) where Utah scored about 20 points in the last 90 seconds to win the game.

utefansince79 icon NEW: Worth noting the Minnesota kicker was all-Big10 the previous year so he was pretty much expected to easily make the kick.
