Would a 4-2-5 scheme help, at least in the interim?

I realize we have bigger issues on offense, but personally, I'm more troubled with the underachieving defense.
From my layman perspective, the main problem appears to be at linebacker. Apart from Reilly, we don't seem to have any LBs capable of consistently maintaining their gap assignments or running down a tackle. I attribute most of that to inexperience, given guys like Fehoko, Hale, Filiaga, Norris, Hooker, Spikes, and Whittingham are all freshman or sophmores who had little or no playing time before this year. Boo and Fagergren have experience, but not the necessary skill.
So I wonder if its not a terrible idea to put an extra DB out there as part of our base package. Lacy and Topps at corner; with Blechen, Rowe, and perhaps Chappuis, Morris-Edwards, or Terrell Reese as an extra safety. I suppose moving Blechen down to LB would do the same thing (maybe the better alternative given his poor play in coverage so far this year).
Or so we have any lineman we could consider moving to LB? Fakahafua, obviously, but in that case, who takes over at DE?
