I'm considering moving from Utah and need some input

I'll be finishing my M.Ed next spring and want to teach high school science. I'm getting divorced right now and think a fresh start would be good for me. I also hate the divisiveness Utah culture brings and don't feel like I fit in. I'm not LDS and I'm quite liberal, but don't enjoy the party scene. I want to live near the mountains somewhere too. Any suggestions?

UpToSnuff icon NEW: Oops. Never mind. I initially read "to" Utah. But in a way moving to Park City is like moving out of Utah. (nm)

PDXUtefan icon NEW: Denver? Normally I'd recommend Portland or Seattle, but the cost of living there has become absurdly expensive and I just don't believe you'd be able to afford it on a teacher's salary.

UTAH744 icon NEW: RE: Wow, what a douchey thing to say. Teachers are paid professionals, especially a high school science teacher with a masters degree, I'm sure he gets by just fine.

SkinyUte icon NEW: Colorado is fantastic (anywhere from Ft. Collins down to Colo Springs), I lived there for about 10 years. I have no idea what the housing market is like, but I would assume about the same as here. (nm)

o NEW: I know you want to live near mountains, but you should take a look at Ohio. They pay their teachers very well and real estate is fairly cheap. (nm)
